Arc4life Cervical Linear Traction Neck pillow cost around $66.00 USD is especially designed to stop neck stiffness and muscle pain. The V shape is designed to lightly traction your neck while you sleep. The opposite side of the V shape is the support side. You can sleep on either side. This pillow is also design for back and side sleeper. Along the side of the V shape is where you would sleep on your side.
I just purchased this cervical neck pillow for 1 week. If you are not a back sleepy and cannot stay on your back, I do not think you should purchase this pillow. The V design keeps your head in place sleeping on your back. The side did not do any supporting for my neck, it felt like a regular pillow to me.
The instructions advise you to sleep with this cervical neck pillow for only 30 minutes the first night, and to sleep on the support side so you can get use to it. The support side just felt like my regular pillow, it did not seem to support my neck and slowly my shoulder pain was coming back. I tried testing on the traction side, the 1st minute was alright. I felt the support needed for my neck. But as I stayed on longer, my neck and back begin to hurt and end up with a terrible headache. I was only on this cervical neck pillow for less then 10 minutes and can not stand it. I immediatly stopped using it and switched back to my regular pillow with a rolled towel.
After trying for a week, the cervical neck pillow seem to help a bit. I get less pain on my neck and shoulder, also I can easily get off my bed without intense pain. I've been switching back and forth with a rolled up towel on my regular pillow. So far the cervical neck pillow and the roll up towel seem to work the same way. I mean both not any better or any worst. I been also only using the rolled up towel with my regular pillow for a week now as well. I could not go to sleep with my normal pillow with out the towel. I felt my head, and neck was sinking down to my pillow and my neck and back shoulder was in acute pain.
